  1. Garbage
  2. Recycling
  3. Yard Waste

All waste should be placed at the street the evening before collection to ensure it will be collected. Bins must be removed from the curb the day following collection. Rollout containers should be placed with lid opening toward the street and handles toward the residence.

  • Garbage, bulky trash, and yard waste are picked up every Thursday. (Check our Waste Collection Calendar for changes due to holidays.)
  • Place bulky trash next to container rather than inside; call our offices to request a bulky pickup.
  • Yard waste must be cut under 4 feet in length, under 6 inches in diameter, less than 50 pounds, and placed in bundled piles manageable by one person.
  • Yard waste from commercial trimmers or lawn care services will not be collected through town services.
  • Leaves must be bagged in clear plastic or opaque bags.
  • Items that are not acceptable for pickup may be taken to Union County Landfill (704-296-4260) located at:
    2125 Austin Chaney Road
