About Us

Overview & Members

The Wingate Volunteer Fire Department is made up of a diverse group of men and women who serve Wingate and the surrounding communities. We currently have over 40 members who dedicate their lives to serving others. Our members meet a minimum of four nights a month to ensure we are prepared for whatever situation we may encounter.

The Wingate Volunteer Fire Department offers a wide variety of services that include but not limited to fire suppression, emergency medical care, vehicle extrication and fire prevention through education. We operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week always ready to serve our community. Our department has 7 vehicles in our fleet consisting of:

  • 1 Brush Truck
  • 1 First Responder Vehicle
  • 1 Squad
  • 2 Support Vehicle
  • 1 Tanker
  • 2 Engines

Over the last 10 years, our organization has nearly doubled our call volume answering over 1000 calls for service each calendar year. With such a demand on our department, in August of 2017, we began to staff our station 20 hours a day 7 days a week with two members on a part-time basis. This program has helped us maintain and ensure our equipment is ready for service at all times. It has also helped us meet the challenge of ensuring that our increase in call volume is answered as quickly as possible. This program has proven itself beneficial helping the organization but more importantly the citizens we serve.
